How To Fix Painful, Broken and Chipped Teeth - by Board Certified Mexico Dentist Assn.

Does your smile does it look like you've been chewing on gravel and rocks?

Often you can do temporary or permanent remedies to fix your smile.  Included are recommended dental pain relievers, and info on  dental  crowns, veneers.

Are your teeth chipped, cracked or broken - some with painful jagged edges?  Do you self-consciously cover your mouth when you speak or are afraid to smile in public or for photos?

A broken piece of tooth or jagged edge inside the mouth can cause infection, injury and be a constant source irritation to the tongue. If visible when you open your mouth or smile your self-esteem can be adversely affected.

Almost as badly as if you had missing teeth!

Some Cosmetic Dentists Are Like the 3 Stooges -

The American Dental Association Says Cosmetic Dentistry is not a dental specialty... But the 3 Stooges think it is.

In the US - cosmetic dentistry is not an American Dental Association (ADA) recognized specialty and any dentist can purchase a dental whitening machine, double their prices overnight and call themselves a Cosmetic Dentist. Some join the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentists and hang the AACD membership certificate on their salon wall for added credibility.

Anyone can join the AACD so long as they pay the membership fees.  Dental students, dental lab technicians, dental suppliers, general dentists and even the 3 Stooges would be welcome.

Consumer protection laws in the US have not caught on to the cosmetic dentistry gimmick that many general dentists in the US use to promote themselves with.  How can they be charged with misrepresentation when cosmetic dentistry does not exist in the eyes of the American Dental Association?

To become a certified cosmetic dentist In Mexico, one has to attend a dental specialist college for another 2 years beyond the 4 years of basic dental college (and 1 year public service in a government clinic) to become a Certified Cosmetic Dentist.

True cosmetic dentistry can involve dental implantology, periodontics, endondontics and other fields with an emphasis on aesthetics as well as functionality.

In the USA a general dentist is not permitted to perform implants or crowns unless they have graduated from the appropriate dental specialist school. But they can (and do) call themselves cosmetic dentists because the specialty field according to the ADA doesn't exist.

In Mexico many general dentists play with terminology and call themselves implant or endodontist specialists etc and quite often they are not. They may not be certified in any specialty.

In Mexico - it gets worse - as general dentists are permitted to learn advanced dentistry at the patients expense and peril. (Read that again).  The only way to protect yourself is to search for a board certified dentist in Mexico, Asia or any other place you want to have your denture adventure.

No dentist anywhere, any place,  on either side of the border can call themselves Board Certified unless they are without risking the loss of their license.

Board Certification comes after graduating from dental specialist college and taking the Board exams - written, lab demonstrative and oral. Only 1% of dentists are Board Certified. They are the best of the best and the ones you want when you go on your dental vacation.

But if you want a board certified cosmetic dentist - you may have to go to Mexico or elsewhere beyond the US where they are formally trained in the field and boards exist to certify them.

Board Certified Dentists Internationale CDI (is the newly combined Board Certified Mexico Dentist Association and it's Asia counterpart Board Certified Asia Dental Association.

You can get referrals, estimates  and dental travel information without cost to top certified dentists in Mexico, Asia and Europe at Certified Dentists Internationale'

A BLACK EYE FOR DENTAL TOURISM

Reprinted with permission from Dental Tourism News Today. www.dentaltourismnewstoday.blogspot.com

Board Certified Dental Association

Dental tourism today faces new challenges according to Ms. Carla Helena Sanchez the new Director of Certified Dentists Internationale.

“The expanding dental tourism industry is in danger of getting a black eye with many dental tourism websites and dental travel brokers promoting any dentist who is willing to pay their annual membership fees. The dentist membership fees can cost $1,500us or more per year and generate much valued high treatment patients for dentists in developing nations.

The websites cannot possibly screen the credentials of the 1,000’s of dentists some agencies claim to list.  Consumers are often getting shoddy work from general dentists anxious to bag lucrative treatments by misrepresenting their qualifications to unsuspecting dental tourists.

The problem for the consumer is that over 85% of dentists on the planet are only general dentists - not formally trained or certified for the kind of advanced dentistry that most dental tourists require.” And many want to jump on the dental tourism gravy train.

The American Dental Association notes…”most dental tourism takes place in developing nations (Mexico, The Philippines, Thailand, India etc) and most of these countries do not restrict general dentists to performing only general dentistry" (cleanings, drilling and pulling teeth.)  In the West, consumer protection laws prevent less-trained general dentists from attempting dental implants, root canals, oral surgery and other complicated procedures.

Ms. Sanchez continued: “Certified Dentists Internationale (CDI) endeavors to select only the very best board certified dentist applicants to join our association.  And compared to other dental agency websites – we are very inexpensive @ $100us for a standard membership.
But unlike the commercial dental tourism websites – we don’t approve every applicant who pays us. We are very selective and do our due diligence in behalf of the patients.

Our Certified Dentist International members are among the very best with many being Presidents of their dental associations, dental specialist college professors, hospital maxillofacial surgical department chiefs, award winners and guest lecturers at dental conventions.

Our members work closely with American Dental Association dentist members and their counterparts in other Western nations in coordinating patients who find dental travel a necessary convenience for a variety of reasons – the greatest being affordability.

“When patients select a Certified Dentists Internationale dentist they will be getting the quality work they expect and deserve for their money. I remember a general dentist who became a “cosmetic dentist specialist” overnight by purchasing a laser whitening unit and advertising ‘Extreme Cosmetic Dental Makeovers.’

Certified Dentists Internationale (CDI) is the new parent entity of the recently combined Board Certified Mexico Dentist Association (BCMD) and Board Certified Asia Dental Association (BCAD). The merger took place early in 2015 after winning the approval of their respective directors located in Mexico City and Manila’s Global City Philippines.

Certified Dentists Internationale staff assists potential dental travel patients select the right dentist for their case, gets free estimates, resumes, referrals, gives dental tourism advice and sets appointments without cost to the patient. And the patient doesn't lose sleep worrying about ending up in a general dentist's chair for their dental makeover.
